**India national cricket team**
The Indian cricket team is the national cricket team of India. Governed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it is a full member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with and TestOne Day International (ODI) status.
The Indian cricket team is currently ranked first (as of 5 December 2010) by the ICC in Tests and second (as of 5 December 2010) in ODIs. As of October 2010, the Indian team has played 445 Test matches, winning 108, losing 138 and drawing 198 of its games, with 1 match ending in a tie. India has a relatively better record in One Day Internationals, winning 52% of matches played. Currently, Gary Kirsten is the head coach while Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the captain in all forms of the game. Under the leadership of Dhoni, the Indian team has set a national record for most back-to-back ODI wins (9 straight wins) and has emerged as one of the most formidable teams in international cricket.
Although cricket was introduced to India by European merchant sailors in the 18th-century and the first cricket club in India was established in Calcutta in 1792, India's national cricket team did not play their first Test match until 25 June 1932 at Lord's. They became the sixth team to be granted Test cricket status. In their first fifty years of international cricket, India proved weaker than Australia and England, winning only 35 of the 196 test matches. The team, however, gained strength near the end of the 1970s with the emergence of players such as Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and the Indian spin quartet—Erapalli Prasanna and Srinivas Venkataraghavan (both off spinners), Bhagwat Chandrasekhar (a leg spinner), and Bishen Singh Bedi (a left-arm spinner). Traditionally much stronger at home than abroad, the Indian team has improved its overseas form since the start of the 21st century. It won the Cricket World Cup in 1983 and was runners-up in 2003 under Sourav Ganguly. India have also been the Runners in 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy, and the Joint Champions along with Sri Lanka in 2002 ICC Champions Trophy led by Sourav Ganguly in both the instances. India also won the inaugural World Twenty20 under Mahendra Singh Dhoni in 2007. The current team contains many of the world's leading players, including Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, and Zaheer Khan who hold numerous cricketing world records.

The Cricket World Cup is an international One Day International (ODI) competition in men's cricket. Organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament has taken place every four years since it was first held in 1975 in England. The number of teams and number of matches have increased since then, although the ICC has declared an interest in reducing the format, following criticism of the most recent competition, the 2007 World Cup.
Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar holds an array of individual records in the World Cup. One of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1997, and "the most worshipped cricketer in the world", Tendulkar has made more scores over fifty, hit more centuries and scored more runs than any other cricketer in World Cup history. Australian Glenn McGrath dominates the individual bowling records, having featured for his country in four World Cups. He has taken more wickets at a higher strike rate with a better economy rate than any other bowler, and has the best individual bowling figures in the history of the tournament.
Australians Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist lead the individual fielding records. Ponting is the leading fielder in terms of catches made, in both an individual World Cup tournament and in the competition's history. Wicketkeeper Gilchrist has made the most dismissals in a single match, an individual tournament and in World Cup history. Australia hold several team records, including those for the most wins, the highest win percentage, the most consecutive wins and are the current holders; they were undefeated in the 2007 Cricket World Cup campaign.
Records are also kept of unsuccessful performances. These include Canada's lowest score in the history of the tournament, Zimbabwe's record number of matches lost and Canadian Nicholas De Groot's three consecutive ducks.
List of 2011 Cricket World Cup broadcasting rights
International Cricket Council has sold its rights of broadcasting for 2011 Cricket World Cup for around US$ 2 Billion to ESPN Star Sports. It would be broadcasting all around the world in about 220 countries.
For the first time, the Cricket World Cup will be broadcast in High Definition (HD) format. Live matches will also be shown by 3G mobile streaming for the first time.
Each and every match will be covered by 27 cameras including features like movable slips cameras and new low 45 degree field cameras. The broadcast production will also have a mid-wicket camera position for live running between wickets.
In United States, the official broadcaster willow. Tv came up with innovative ways to broadcast the games using IPTV technology and providing live feeds to users of Roku, Google TV, PS3, Dish world IPTV, Boxee, Xbox, Wii, and Samsung Internet @ TV. The games are also available on multiple tablet or mobile devices with internet. On TV, World Cup is available in Willow Cricket HD on Dish Network and Direc TV.
**2015 Cricket World Cup**
The 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup will be the eleventh Cricket World Cup, and will be jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. The location of the games will be evenly split, with the location of the final yet to be decided.
The hosting rights were awarded at the same time as those of the 2011 Cricket World Cup, which New Zealand and Australia had originally bid to host, and the 2019 Cricket World Cup. The 2011 tournament was awarded to the four Asian Test cricket playing countries India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in a 10 to 3 vote (although Pakistan has since lost its hosting rights). The International Cricket Council were sufficiently impressed with the trans-Tasman bid that it was decided to award the next world cup to them.
The 2015 Cricket World Cup will be the 2nd time this tournament has been jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the first being the 1992 Cricket World Cup which was won by Pakistan, who defeated England in the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Incidentally this is the first time since 1992 that a major international cricket tournament like World Cup, Champions Trophy or T20 World Cup is being held in Australia or New Zealand.
